October 2024 Briefs

Announcing our 2025 Learning Agenda

How wonderful to see so many of you in Baltimore for three days full of learning at Fall Think Tank, Forum24, and the Summits for CMOs, Healthcare and Universities! If you missed it, you can find order info for the recordings in this newsletter.

We are excited to announce our 2025 learning agenda and events that expand our current offerings to members by increasing the number of Think Tank meetings to four in 2025, one in each quarter.

We also know that committing to travel to in-person events is a challenge for some, so we are innovating how we do events to be more accessible for all.

  • March 2025: We will convene in person in the eastern US for a one-day Think Tank meeting on the theme of women’s health and a one-day Forum on the theme of assets-based approaches to mental health.
  • May 2025: We will convene virtually for a one-day Think Tank meeting on the perils and promise of AI.
  • September 2025: We will convene in person in the western US for a one-day Think Tank meeting on the theme of sustained listening and a one-day Forum on civility in the workplace, plus Healthcare & University Summits.
  • November 2025: We will convene virtually for a one-day Think Tank meeting on health and well-being in KPIs.

As always, HERO member organizations can send two individuals to each in-person Think Tank meeting and three individuals to each virtual Think Tank meeting; Forum is open to all and unlimited. HERO members will continue to benefit from having access to the Think Tank recordings and the slides from all these insightful events, with the added convenience of a meeting in your region every year. HERO sponsorships will include visibility throughout the year.

We hope to see each and every one of you in 2025!

Now, read on for announcements about the release (today!) of the HERO committee report on Investing in People & Culture – What, Why and How?, the Brain Health Best Practice Score, and the 2024 HERO Health & Well-Being Awards, plus a robust list of the latest articles and convenings.

Driving Health Equity in the Workplace

Eduardo Sanchez, MD, MPH, FAHA

Structural inequity, discrimination and bias take a heavy toll on the health and well-being of employees, organizations, and their communities. The American Heart Association’s CEO Roundtable leadership collaborative of nearly 50 CEOs working to eliminate policies that lead to workplace inequities collaborated to develop guiding principles and actionable strategies to guide organizations on their journey to health equity.
