February 2025 Briefs

Women’s Health & Mental Health Take the HERO Stage in Boston, March 11-12

Are you making plans to join us in Boston next month? The two days featuring Think Tank & Forum will be our first of FOUR networking and educational convenings in 2025. Read on for updates on the March meetings, plus you’ll find a clue to the June Think Tank in HERO Recommends. Also, HERO members received a sneak peek for the September Think Tank when asked: Does your organization allocate designated time for, or provide training for, or rate employees in their demonstration of, active listening at any level of the organization (e.g., executive, manager or team)?

HERO Think Tank meetings are a highly valued benefit of membership, providing an invitation to participate with other thoughts leaders to solve complex employer issues. In addition to HERO Think Tank meetings, this issue of HERO Briefs highlights other offerings only for members including participating in HERO committees, access to the HERO Hub resources, and discounts on events. No matter what role you play relative to employee health and well-being, HERO has a seat for you. Check it out!

I hope to see you in Boston!

With gratitude,

Karen & the HERO Team

HERO Forum

HERO’s Inaugural ONE Day Forum, in Boston, MA, on March 12, 2025 is quickly approaching. There’s still time to register!

Deaths of despair now permeate too many segments of our society. What role might employers play in confronting the inequities, stressors and mental health concerns that lead to such desperation?

Stigma reduction, suicide prevention campaigns and mental health training are all extremely important aspects of workplace mental health. However, if we don’t focus on the workplace itself (the system), and the role it plays on the mental health of employees, we’ll continue to fall short in our efforts.

Join us in Boston for one full day of conversations with researchers and organizations who are addressing mental health through systemic change.

We can’t wait to see you there!

2025 Winter Think Tank – A free members-only event

Women’s Health & Well-Being: Employers’ Role in Building Awareness and Equity

March is Women’s History Month, a period during which we honor and recognize women’s contributions to history, culture, and society. And we have a timely Think Tank theme! We’ll tackle the broad topic of how employers can play a unique role in advancing women’s health and well-being. Menopause may get a mention, but we’ll take a deep dive into the business case for policies, programs, and practices that promote equity for women and boost physical, mental, financial, social, and career well- being. And our opening and closing keynotes will share key insights to inspire you to forge ahead on your journey to promote equity for all.

HERO Committees

What’s new with HERO Committees?

Interested in staying ahead of industry trends, contributing to published reports, and building strong connections with fellow professionals? HERO members are encouraged to participate in one or more committees for the additional value accrued in the people you meet, the insights you gain, and the ability to contribute to published articles, white papers, case studies, webinars and other tools.

Here’s the latest update on our current committee activities as we gear up for 2025:

  • The University Summit Planning Committee is meeting the last week of March to begin planning the Fall 2025 University Summit.
